Dr. Alisa Onken attended three years of undergraduate school at the University of Minnesota – Duluth earning a Biology major and Chemistry minor. She received her DDS in 2004 from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Onken completed three levels at Pankey Institute in Miami, Florida, which gives dentists the skills to practice comprehensive dentistry with an emphasis on occlusion.
Dr. Onken has two years experience as an associate for a private practice in Hudson, WI. She believes “Dentistry is the perfect blend of art, science, and people. The technology, techniques, and information are constantly evolving making dentistry mentally stimulating. The art of building teeth and designing smiles is fun, and working with people makes the profession very interesting.” Dr. Onken is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, St. Paul District Dental Society, and the Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Her patient philosophy is to provide quality, comprehensive care in a caring and friendly environment that fosters trust and honesty.
Dr. Onken’s husband, Christopher, has his master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and also owns group homes for disabled adults. Both Dr. Onken and her husband enjoy spending time with their two boys.
In her free time, Dr. Onken enjoys quality time with her family and friends. She is a western Wisconsin native and enjoys participating in and watching sports, in addition to exercising, traveling, reading, movies, and dancing.
